It was a bit of a whirlwind trip to DC for the rally, but we still found a little time to stop for sights and coffee.  We stopped randomly in a Pennsylvania town called Bedford, old by American standards, but then all those northeaster towns are.  We stopped at an old church and graveyard (what is it with those two and the graveyards?), and stopped to view a couple of covered bridges.

Next, it was on to DC for the big rally.  There were a lot of people there and only a few dogs.  Many people stopped to give me a little pat which was good.  People were wearing strange things and carrying signs--here are a few of our favorites:

We spent the rest of the day walking around and seeing sights--gave a sniff to the reflecting pool, was forbidden to get close to Jefferson, didn't see Beau on the white house lawn, and really liked the FDR Memorial....did you know he had a dog?
